PretzelB
I'm having stability issues when trying to run games or any graphical demo and I'm trying to rule out each hardware piece starting with the memory. I have memtest and I'm running it. Just want to clarify a few things I think I've read from other posts. 1) Let memtest run for at least 3 passes, correct? 2) If I don't care about o/c then can I just let the bios use default settings? 3) I've seen specs for my memory that say 5-5-5-18 at 1.8v and then something else that listed other values at 5 with a few 15 and 1.9v. Not sure what that was about but if I can just use defaults then I won't need an answer to this. As long as I can let the bios use the auto settings I guess all I need to do is let memtest do it's thing, which would me I'm good to go. It gets confusing seeing all the posts about what to do with your timings and hard to tell if that applies to you or not. FWIW, I think my problems are related to either my MB and CPU combo, the PSU, or Vista 64. Just want to rule out as much as I can.

With no overclock, just set your system to auto and test with memtest. If you error then some tweaking of your system may be necessary. Use Memtest from http://www.memtest.org Version 1.70. PretzelB
Crud, just realized I have memtest v 1.65. Hope it's good enough. I better grab the new one too.

PretzelB
Well it ran fine with 1.65 but I noticed there's a version 2 now? So any reason to use ver 1.7 with ver 2 out?
DerekT
Version 2 is another Memtest platform and has been seen as problematic, especially with many of the newer boards. I would use Memtest v1.70 from http://www.memtest.org Since you find no issues, it is really a moot point in your case though.
PretzelB
I let it run overnight with ver 2 and it finished 7 passes with zero errors at auto settings. I assume this means I can say my memory is good.
