Ok, trying to pump a little life into one of my old rigs, so please bear with me.. Just bought a matched set of Corsair XMS CMX1024RE-3200 to pair up with my original pair of XMS CMX512R-3200C2PT. Only reads as 1.91gig in BIOS and in XP Pro . Now , after looking at these chips I think they won't work with each other, but was told otherwise. If there's anything I can do to get them working together I'll try it. Thanks in advance !

Ok, so I was looking to up my old rig's ram, which is an Asus SK8N, FX-51, 6800xt geforce , ect. I purchased some TWINX CMX1024RE-3200 to add to my CMX512R-3200C2PT ( also TWINX ). So, my problem is that even in the bios it only sees 1960meg. In windows xp pro I get 1.91 gig ram. If I boot with just the new modules I bought it usually won't boot, just beeps. I have the 1008 bios ( last one for that board ) but still same thing. I'm kind of wondering that the ram isn't sompatible with my motherboard, but it says in the manual it's supported. Runs fine with my old ram, just wanting to make it a 3gig ram system. My new rig is using some dominator ram with the x2 6400+ , but need to make this one work as well. Thanks for any help!:):

Posting with my old ram I can boot 100% of the time. Posting with the nre ram it's about 50% of the time, unless I have my ram in there too then it'll usually boot, but show 1.91 gig instead of 3gig.... I dunno, stuck with it now either way, probably just keep it at 1gig like before and try to sell these sticks..... Thanks for the help!

Sorry for the late response. I've been working on other stuff but I did today get the 2gig set to work. You're right on not being able to mix the chips, I pulled my old 1gig out and it boots the 2gig just fine in slots 2 and 4. Guess it'll just have to stay that way.... thanks for the help and great site !!
