Guest dancepig
Here's what I'm using: - Asus A7N8X-X mainboard for Socket A nForce2 400/MCP, ATX, ATA133, USB2.0, LAN - 2 x Corsair XMS2700 DDR-DIMM 512MB PC2700 32Meg x 8, CAS 2-3-3-6-T1, 333MHz - AMD Athlon XP2600+ 1.917 GHz Socket A 333MHz, 512KB Barton, OEM Now I assumed when buying this stuff that I'd get 1024mbs of ram running at 333mhz, dual channel. What I actually get is 1024mbs of ram running at 166mhz, single channel. Could someone tell me how to get my RAM running at 333 Mhz, dual channel? Or if it's not dual channel ram then just how to get the speed from 166mhz to 333mhz?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 13, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 13, 2004 First thing, DDR333 would be running at 166 MHz, so if the CPU and memory Clock is at 166 MHz then that would be correct. 166 X 2 = 333DDR! Second thing, what slots do you have the modules installed in? Should be slots 2-3 or 1-3 for dual channel!
Guest dancepig
I have tried the RAM in all combination of slots. Currently in 2 & 3. Any suggestions?
Guest dancepig
Just having a look at the BIOS here... could it be a BIOS setting?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 15, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 15, 2004 No it's not a bios setting! Do you have on-board video? If so, as I remember the only way to run Dual channel is with a AGP Video card. Also in the product spec for ASUS A7N8X-X, it does not say this MB supports dual channel. I would check the user manual or talk to ASUS support, as this model may be single channel only!
