Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 19, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 19, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard and then load optimized defaults and set the Memory Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings to 5-5-5-15 (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! Please allow memtest to run 2-3 passes on each module. If you still get errors, we will be happy to replace them! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. CrazyOleg
i cant get the Memtest to work at all is there a more user friendly program or can you walk me trough the installation and how to use the program thanks for the help This might help. Any memory testing software is better than none, if you can't get memtest 2.0 to work, then go for the 3.6 and let us know the results. Where did you get 3.6 from? Wired
Never heard of that one. What problems are you having with 2.0? The instructions on their site are pretty straight forward. It's not meant to run in windows if that's what you're trying.
Transail
ok so i ran the test 3 times and its still going and so far 0 errors on the working stick of ram but the other stick does not work at all at the provided settings so im guessing that is a defective stick of ram going to continue running the test will let you know if there are any errors let me know what to do next thanks

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 20, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 20, 2008 You would need to burn the .iso file as an image to a disk and then boot from the disc you create, in order to run memtest. However if you have one module that does not even post, while the other one seems to be functioning fine, then Let's get them replaced. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 21, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 21, 2008 Any test that is run while in Windows is not going to be as accurate as a program run from a boot disc.
