eagle107
I have TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX on my Asus P5N-D. Can I add another pair of these same RAM modules to my motherboard to get 8GB of RAM without any problems? I do not understand Asus DIMM Support information. Asus QVL states Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 is supported for DIMM socket A and B, but not C. What does this mean? A* : Supports one module inserted in any slot as Single-channel memory configuration B* : Supports one pair of modules inserted into eithor the yellow slots or the black slots as one pair of Dual-channel memory configuration C* : Supports 4 modules inserted into both the yellow and black slots as two pairs of Dual-channel memory configuration Thank you for your time. bigbuck08
You will most likely run into problems if you have all four DIMM slots populated. What are you doing that you need that much RAM?
eagle107
I need the RAM for running SAS statistical and visualization modeling; at the same time I will be running Vista 64bit with two virtual instances of Fedora and FreeBSD. All of this takes a lot of RAM. Do I need to purchase RAM that work with option C then? Thank you.
Wired
NOTE: CM2X1024-6400C4 is NOT in a TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX. Twin2X2048-6400C4 = 2 sticks of CM2X1024-6400C4 Twin2X4096-6400C4DHX = 2 sticks of CM2X2048-6400C4DHX
