Where are the chips made?

Recommended Posts

Lately, I've been asking around about US companies that make CD/DVD drives because I want to help the American economy. I stated that I wanted to find the Corsair of CD/DVD drives. Then someone said that the memory chips on the DIMMs are probably foreign. My question is... Are they? If they are, would you consider hiring Americans to design them and manufacter them in the USA? Next time I buy memory, I would be willing to pay double for US designed/manufactered ones if your current products have anything made in a foreign country in them.

All of our XMS modules are designed and manufactured in the USA. The IC's used on them are mainly manufactured overseas. We have no plans at this time to ever enter the semiconductor business and build our own IC's. If you have any other questions please let me know. Thanks!
