we350z
It is my understanding the Voyager GT 2GB and 4GB drives have identical specifications? So they should perform the same? 34MB/s Read & 28MB/s Write raw sequential? Do they use the same chipset and technology? So I would expect them to perform similarly for random R/W? I plan to buy the cheaper 2GB version if so, since I am planning on using it for ReadyBoost in Vista.
we350z
Does anyone know?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 20, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 20, 2008 2Gig GT FV is about 21MBPs Write and 34MBPs Read 4Gig GT FV is about 25.5MBPs Write and 34MBPs Read These are average readings and may vary slightly depending on the system. we350z
What about bigger size models, do they have the same perf as the 4gig? I didn't see any of this info on the website. 2Gig GT FV is about 21MBPs Write and 34MBPs Read 4Gig GT FV is about 25.5MBPs Write and 34MBPs Read These are average readings and may vary slightly depending on the system. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 20, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 20, 2008 We do not publish performance data on our flash products as they are subject to change with out notice. And no they will not the way they are made will determine the speed or performance. IE the controller used and if the Memory density is single or double density. And all 2,4 and 8 Gig GT models are no longer in production.

The shop has to replace it under warranty but they say they cannot find the same. The problem is that i cannot find a similar with the same read write speed!!! If they refund the money they will refund less than what I paid 3 months ago as the prices have fallen and they same at the terms and conditions of sale that they replace with "same or better" product!!!!!!!!!!! Doogie
What about bigger size models, do they have the same perf as the 4gig? I didn't see any of this info on the website. Apparently, Corsair will only post performance numbers after they've discontinued production... I've tested both the GT and non-GT versions of Voyagers that are currently being produced. Testing was performed on 3 different test platforms (see my post "16GB Voyager GT Not Performing Well" in this forum). I used 4 different testing utilities: HD-Bench, HD-Tach, HD-Tune and ATTO-Benchmark. For the GT drive, 3 platforms times 4 test utilities gave me a total of 12 tests...yet, only one of the twelve tests showed results close to what the Ram Guy lists above for the discontinued smaller GT drives (Platform 1 using ATTO). All of the testing would suggest that a GT operating at or above 29MB/s Read and 12MB/s Write would meet spec for what is now coming off Corsair's production line. I think that one of the reasons why they're reluctant to post performance figures is that, at least from my testing, it would appear that the USB controller in your system can have considerable influence over the results. Clearly, not all controllers produce the same results...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 26, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 26, 2008 Doogie, I have told you straight the reasons and I don't think you are helping other users. There is no conspiracy here its just evolution of flash drives and its industry wide. And again 2,4, and 8 Gig GT Flash Voyagers are no longer in production. So what you have posted makes little sense. In addition, you are on the verge of double posting and that is not allowed.

Posting performance spec for drives that are out of production this is what does not make sense. For some they are confused and upset because they may have expected more performance that what they received. Why that reason is or should be done case by case. And Different size flash drives will perform differently.

And Different size flash drives will perform differently. I fully agree on both counts! What you don't seem to understand is that unlike the information found on your Sticky "Flash Reviews!" (which DOES have links to old performance data!), ALL of the performance information that I've posted is from NEW drives! The 8GB Voyager non-GT was purchased in Jan 2008 and the 16GB GT was received in Feb 2008 and is so new, most people can't even buy one yet!!!! If anyone's confused, it would be those who follow your links under "Flash Reviews!", read the old performance data and believe that what you're currently producing will perform as well or better. ;):
