drpeppir
The memory in my signature with stock bios SPD setting @ 1066 or 800 is failing memtest. Ive tried switching the ram to additional slots, and even tested individual sticks! Each stick is giving me errors on memtest. In addition the memory problems seem to have corrupted windows driver installations as some are failing checks and loading as corrupt. This system is no longer OC'ed, even if it were the RAM would run at stock mostly @800. I would also like to add that my friend who has a Corsair XMS2 kit with 2x2 GB and another co-worker with a 4x1 GB @800 kit pass memtest on this machine, so it cannot be the memory controller as maybe indicated in similar nforce problems. I have already RMA'ed the motherboard with eVGA and bought and returned a couple of them from Fry's. This leads me to conclude that it must be the memory at this point. bigbuck08
I would look into an RMA for your RAM.
Ambress
I 2nd the vote on the RAM being the likely problem. I too bought two pairs of the same 8500C5 kit and 1 pair was replaced by RMA after about 6 months and the remaining pair after maybe a year. What I have now is working, so long as I never power down my PC. Once that happens, I have to swap memory to another module I of cheap memory that I bought specifically for this purpose, and boot with it, reset my BIOS, set the memory voltage to higher than spec at 2.3v, shut down, reinstall the 8500C5 modules, boot, reset memory voltage to 2.2v, reboot and proceed on into WinXP. From then on, no problems until another power off. This particular 2GB kit just seems prone to problems, in my opinion. Corsair was great about replacing my modules under the RMA process, but it is slower than I think should be the case and I feel replacements should be sent to the customer followed by the customer returning their modules, rather than the reverse. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 19, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 19, 2008 drpeppir, Please make sure you have the memory voltage set to 2.1 volts, and retest the modules, if they still give you problems, then lets get them replaced. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.

There isnt an advanced RMA option to this problem?
Wired
There isnt an advanced RMA option to this problem? They don't normally process RMAs like that, so you'd have to call in to request that option.
