jugh3ad
Hello, I have an issue with a new build and I'm not sure if it's a RAM problem or a motherboard problem. I have an XFX 780i motherboard and TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX (kit of 2 CM2X2048-6400DHX modules) along with a C2D E6600. The system will not POST in a dual channel configuration (DIMMs 0-1 or DIMMs 2-3) but everything is fine with just one stick (I tried them both). Following a couple of suggestions I tried increasing the voltage to 2.0 and 2.2 and also increasing the MCP/NB voltage +.05V without success. The Corsair configurator site lists this RAM as compatible. Is this a known issue or is the board a dud? Thanks for the help! - jughead
Wired
Does sound like the memory controller. Try other memory in your system / your memory in another system.
jugh3ad
Does sound like the memory controller. Try other memory in your system / your memory in another system. Thanks for the reply! I do not currently have another comp that uses DDR2 to test these sticks, but I tried some old DDR2 533 (or 667 can't remember) that doesn't POST with both sticks and runs very slowly with just one stick. I'll wait to hear back from XFX unless there's something else I should try. Thanks again, Jug
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 19, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 19, 2008 If it is doing that with other memory it sounds like there is some issue with the MB and I would see what XFX has to say.
