waveskimmer
Hello: Will this memory run with my motherboard? I'm currently running the Twin 2x2048-6400C5 @ 800mhz without any problems. I installed the memory and everything auto detected without a hitch. I want to upgrade to 4gig and was going to purchase 2 more of these for a total of 4gigs, but heard this motherboard doesn't play nice with all 4 memory slots filled up at 800mhz. So instead of filling all 4 memory slots up I thought about just purchasing two Twin2x4096-6400C5 modules. Will these two modules play nice with this motherboard? I'm dual booting Windows XP/Vista 32bit. I know 32bit OS will not recognize the full 4gig. Thanks! Shelby
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 19, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 19, 2008 2 modules at DDR800 with that MB should not be a problem, so yes one set of Twin2x4096-6400C5DHX will run great on that MB.

I'm looking at getting this RAM as well but am currently running WinXP 32-bit. Will I get much performance improvement from my current 2 gigs if I upgrade to this? I know WinXP-32 doesn't recognize all 4 gigs, but I run 4 gigs at work on a different MB with WinXP-32 and there's a big performance improvement with Photoshop, etc. even though System Properties only shows 3.4 Gigs of RAM. I've read here that others with the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe say only 2.75 gigs of ram gets recognized when 4 gigs of corsair are installed. I guess this depends on their page file size. I have three external hard drives with page files on each of them set to let Windows decide how large they are. Can you shed any light on this? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 3, 2008 It will depend on the Video cards you use but that is about correct! However, there is little difference in the performance maybe just that application will utilize the memory better.
donatom3
What was the resolution to this problem. I actually have the same exact motherboard, same processor, and just bought the same ram. I'm also having a very similar problem. Computer boots up fine, but windows wont' complete a boot up in regular mode with both ram chips in. I've tried single dual channel, and the other bank. My motherboard has the newest bios 0901 I did run memtest it took 9 hours to complete one pass with both ram chips in but got no errors. I was able to complete this even with a fsb of 325 and ram speed of 422 ddr 845 Now is 9 hours about normal for 4 gigs of ram for memtest? If this seems normal, I will try reinstalling vista 64 bit. Let me know.

donatom3
How many loops did it run? If by loops you mean passes, it did one complete pass. It turns out I replied to the wrong thread. I meant to post on this one http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70810 Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 2.4ghz ASUS P5N32-SLI SE DElUXE Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 Vista 64-bit Those are my specs. I forget the video card. It's my brothers computer. I know it's a 7900 gx2 with 1 gig total of ram.
