HowardS
If anyone can help me with some advice please. I have just built a shuttle SP35P2 Pro (Prima Series) with Vista Extreme 64, Intel Core 2, Quad core 45n CPU and 8gb of top spec Corsair Ram. Not only was my floppy drive unable to read floppies but my USB memory sticks are not recognised. I have Vista 64 software from Logitech and that says Vista not installed. I run other 64 bit machines and am guessing its the new CPU causing the issues? I also want to flash the bios but have to do it from DOS with no means of doing it (floppy or memory stick) I have tried moving the inf file into system 32.inf but no joy. Any advice on flashing the bios or getting my memory sticks to work (corsair and others) would be very useful please. Regards to all
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 15, 2008 That sounds like there is some other issue with the system. Do you have a floppy that will Boot on another system like with Win9X? If not you can get one from http://www.bootdisk.com and I would use another system to make the floppy and test it. Then with this system dissconnect the HDD and clear the BIOS and then see if it will boot to a floppy. Or better yet use http://www.memtest.org because Win9X will not be able to load with more than 1 gig of memory installed. But see if it will boot to a Memtest Disk. I am used to encountering problems when I buy new technology so I don't think it will be anything major. I had 3 licensed copies of Vista 64 for months before they could be used due to lack of decent drivers. I went back to 32 and all was fine but this machine is not made for 32 bit so I am giving it another try. The devices and software all work fine on lower spec machines so I will let you know the outcome.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 15, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 15, 2008 NP and I would talk to the MB Maker about it not working with floppy's or USB Flash media. But it sounds like the MB has some problem and might need to be replaced.
