r3ap3rsg
Ok I just purchased this ram got it in tonight. My pc is running fine but its not registering the ram as its advertised timings. According to my board its 800MHz -5-5-5-18-2T but its supposed to be 800MHZ -4-4-4-12-2T I have a ASUS Crosshair mother board I updated bios to 0905. In CMOS under EXTREME TWEAKER DRAM CONFIGURATION it says TCL AUTO TRCD AUTO TRP AUTO TRAS AUTO width of dram interface AUTO 1T/2T memory timeing Auto AI clock skew auto X Channel A clock skew delay 150ps X Channel B clock Skew delay 150ps advance memory settings dram timing control output driver control Then at the bottom of the screen it just reads that the ram is 800mhz -5-5-5-18-2T So what do I need to change to make the settings correct? Oh yea and I don't know how to run memtest. I don't have a floppy drive I only have a DVD burner drive. I read instructions on memtest and didnt completely understand them. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 13, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 13, 2008 TCL - 4 TRCD - 4 TRP - 4 TRAS - 12 1T/2T memory timing - 2T Memory Voltage - 2.1v (you will find this by setting AI Overclocking to Manual) All other timings should remain at auto/default. Where to get Memtest and how to download it?
r3ap3rsg
I appreciate the fast reply very much. I set all those as you said. I set AI Overclocking to Manual and went to over voltage option and set DDR2 voltage to 2.10v When I turned on my pc probe II in windows it says that the voltage is still 1.90? DerekT
Download Memtest from http://www.memtest.org and burn the ISO image to a CD. Boot to the CD and allow for two full passes. If your system passes the DRAM test with stability, then just run your system this way. If you find no issues of stability, then it's all a go anyway. Some boards undervolt. Some boards do not show the correct voltages and the AMD systems are able to run the DRAM with stability with lesser voltages than Intel. Let us know how the testing goes. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 13, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 13, 2008 The settings should be Cas 5-5-5-12 with the modules you have in your signature and I would set the TRC to 24 as well. If it's listed.
