arezap
I have an Asus Maximus extreme, TWIN3X2048-1800C7DF , and the QX6800 CPU. I'm building a system. I read somewhere in a brief mention that this cpu isn't compatible with this ram. Is this true?
DerekT
I have built this board with a QX9650 and have tested it with both two and four of those modules. You will need to overclock your system to reach the full DRAM potential and you will have to manually enter the settings. If you move to four DRAM modules you will have to lower your DRAM bandwidth to reach stability. I had no issues with this DRAM and the Maximus Extreme. arezap
It will be fine. I found out after much googling that the bios supports the cpu and the cpu therefore supports the ram. Wow it took forever to dig that up.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 13, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 13, 2008 Derek is correct the CPU FSB has to run at 1:2 ratio IE CPU 1600 FSB to run the memory at DDR1600
arezap
Does anyone else have this setup ad have some specific configurations they've tried oc'ing? I'm an overclocking newb and could use a few pointers on what to set and to what. I'm no stranger around the bios just never tinkered beyond normal setup for an OS. Now I got the properly liquid cooled equipment and want to push it .
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 3, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 3, 2008 I am sorry I cannot tell you how to over clock, but I can answer direct questions. Maybe DerekT can give you a few pointers.

Corsair does not support overclocking but that section is there to help those trying to get an overclock stable.
