thechad
I am trying to use 8GM on this board and I cant get anything over 4GB to work. I replaced all 8GB as I thought it was faulty Ram. I even swapped the Mobo out for anew one and still have the same problems. I can get it to work Occasionally with 4 GB and only sometimes with 2 GB. Is this memory completely incompatible? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 12, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 12, 2008 Can you be more specific when you say it wont work? And with 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and if you have the Voltage adjustment I would suggest 2.0 Volts. thechad
With 2 or 4GB My system will either get the 3 beep bios memory error, or it will post, boot and then become very unstable. The system will hang, Apps will hang, processes will become unresponsive, or occasionally the system will just seem to work almost flawlessly for a few hours, but then it will hang, I will reboot and then it will either have a POST error or it will boot into windows and then seem ok for a few. Any ideas? 2 identical motherboards- 2 identical sets of 8GB of ram. Intel suport said that it was the Ram. So i swapped the ram. Then after swapping the Ram i thought i Would swap the Mobo. I have the same problem with or without the Video card installed using onboard video. AThe only thing I havent one is try different hard drives - reloading the OS could possibly have something to do with the system hanging occasionally, but i did a repair and still the same issues with Post. I have never been able to boot with 8GB. one time i got past Post but the system never booted into windows.
