MikeEcho
I've been having some crashes with my system and was hoping for some help. I put this system together about 5 months ago. I've had several crashes to a blue screen with error Stop 0x00000116 and nvlddmkm.sys. Changed video cards, but problem remains. Someone suggested ram issues, which is what led me here to Corsair forums. Using the Memory Configurator for my Abit IP35 Pro, I realized I may have the wrong ram. I have the TWIN 2x2048 6400 2gb kit DDR2 800 XMS26400. What do you think? Thanks
Wired
There is a variety of memory matching that description on the memory configurator.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.0 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
MikeEcho
What I have is the XMS26400, but the Configurator recommends the XMS26400C4DHX This is where my confusion is. Do I have the wrong ram installed? Thanks
Wired
Those are not part numbers, but if the latter is recommended on the site, then the former will be listed as well. What is the PART NUMBER of your memory? It should be listed here: http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=280321
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 7, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 7, 2008 Did you test them one at a time at Cas5-5-5-12 at 1.9 Volts with http://www.memtest.org to make sure one is not failing?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 8, 2008 With Vista you will have to download the ISO Image and use a CD-Recording software to Burn the image. or use another system to make the Floppy or CD.
