Got the striker extreme (bios 1305) and a kit of TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX (2 modules of 2GB, 5-5-5-18, 1.8v). Now it automatically freeze right before the bios, in fact it catch my key press and say "entering bios..." but it stop right there. My reseller's tech say its because of the size of each module...

My rig boot with another pair of dimm so any idea on witch setting i try to change?

thx for your time

Yep, sounds like a rma is needed. One of the sticks must be defective.

Still could it be related to the total amount of mem (4 gig) ?

I think the tech is confused (no offense). IF it were a 4gb stick then ya, if the mobo only supports density of 2gb that would be a issue. BUT your system can run 2gb sticks, 4gb total isnt the issue. Now if the os is 32 bit you wont see all 4gb. Youll see around 3gb or little more. But it will boot and run fine.

I gave back my memory to my reseller for a RMA, but he still insist that 4 gig of

TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX on my Striker Extreme is not compatible. One sitck is but not two, why? Who knows...

Now the TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX is not listed on ASUS Striker Extreme QVL (but the 1gig dimm are) but how much this thing is up to date since there's been a dozen BIOS update for this MB.

On the other hand, the Memory Configurator from Corsair site say it is and from what answer i got in this thread it doesn't seem to be a problem...

can you reassure me RAMGUY?

We may not have sent ASUS the modules or they may not have purchased them, but they are indeed compatible with the MB. And we as a rule do not persue MB makers QVL Lists because we do more testing then they do.
