DDR frequency 133.3 instead of 200 MHz

Hi.

I have an ASUS P4P800 E-Deluxe.

I had 3x1GB xms3200 ( 1 PT and 2 C2 ). The DDR frequency was 200 MHz.

I instal 2x512 MB xms3200xl with the 2x1GB xms3200c2 to obtain the Dual Channel.

Now the system works in Dual Channel, but the DDR frequency is 133.3 instead of 200 MHz.

ASUS writes in the manual that if the CL is different the frequency may decrease in Dual Channel.

But the xms3200xl are 2-2-2-5.

And Corsair writes in the site that xms3200c2 is 2-3-3-6.

So the CL must be the same ( CL 2 ).

Now both Sandra 2008 and CPU-Z says that xms3200c2 are 3-3-3-8. So they are CL3, and P4P800 E-Deluxe puts the DDR frequency in Dual Channel to 133.3 MHz instead of 200 MHz. And the system is slower than before Dual Channel.

What can I do ? I'd like to have Dual Channel with 200 MHz frequency. Why Corsair writes xms3200c2 are 2-3-3-6 ( CL 2 ) and the system detects them as 3-3-3-8 ( CL 3 ) ?

Best Regards,

Fabrizio

The SPD is set differently on those modules IE XMS3200C2 have the SPD set to Cas 3-3-3-8 and and the tested settings would need to be manually set and the XMS3200XL modules have their SPD set to Cas 2-2-2-5. So when you leave the BIOS at Auto it will down clock the memory so all the modules can be seen.

I would suggest setting the memory frequency manually at DDR333 and set the timings manually to Cas 2.5-3-3-7 at 2.75 Volts and then disable legacy USB and test the system with http://www.memtest.org.
