XFX nForce 680i LT / CM2X1024-6400C4 Problems

I have built a new system:

XFX nForce 680i LT MOBO

2cQ 6600

CM2X1024-6400C4

XFX GeForce 7600 GT 256Mb DDR3 Video

WD 75Gb Raptor SATA

Seagate 320Gb SATA

Lite-on DVD-RW 20x Lightscribe

Tsst DVD-RW16x

Ulta XFinity 600w PS

Windows Vista Business 64bit

System runs fine with 2 sticks memory, but I wanted to geta additional performace, so ordered another 2 sticks of the same memory. When I boot with the 4 sticks, the system POSTs, then blue screens when windows attempts to start. Nothing is overclocked at this point, all memory timings are set auto by bios (4-4-4-12). Any ideas to help this boot with 4Mb? Thanks

I've tried all suggested settings, even way less agrssive timings, to no avail. Maybe have a bad MOBO? Though, I tried the new sticks in place of the originals, worked fine. Also tried new ones and old ones in slots 2,3 instead of 1,2 - again each set works fine, just not all 4 at the same time. Guess I may have to stick with 2Gb instead.

Any other thoughts? Charlie

My MOBO manufacturer found the following Microsoft 'fix' (maybe) for this problem: h

ttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/929777

that addresses the IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL problem on machines running Vista (64 bit) and trying to use more than 3Gb.

It seems that Vista has a problem itself addressing more than 3Gb memory. Will let you know if this fixes it...

RMA the MB and or CPU but I would test the CPU in another system to be sure, but if it is an Intel platform MB for sure RMA the MB. If it is an AMD platform I would check the CPU in another system to trouble shoot.

i have the system running. The cpu and all ram sticks are good. just cant have anything in the 2 ram slots closest to the cpu.

RMA the motherboard. You have board issues. Without the two first DRAM slots, you can not run with Dual Channel Mode and are running in Single Channel Mode.
