hawaiiuser
I did fill out an online RMA form on Sunday night, but no reply yet. The form gave me this number 430548 I have read many of the problem msgs here at the forum. I have CM2X1024-6400C4 DHX 2 sticks Downloaded Memtest from the link in the msgs here. 1 stick tests good. 1 stick always gives errors in memtest. Both sticks purchased as a pair from Newegg.com in October 11. (i am past the newegg 90 day replacement warranty) I still have the original Packing List receipt from shipping box. Ran fine until January then get BSODs and crashes out of games to Desktop. Reset bios jumper and used AUTO all settings: 1 stick tests good, the other gives over 100 errors after few minutes. Then set bios to Manual settings for memory: 4,4,4,12 2t 2.1 volt legacy usb disabled same results, 1 stick good, other errors out. Set bios to Manual 5,5,5,15 2t 2.1 volt legacy usb disabled same results, 1 stick good, other errors out. Tried new bios file Version 1004 (for Asus P5K-e WiFi) same results as above Tried old bios file Version 0906 same results as above Can I get an RMA approval pls ? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 5, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 5, 2008 That ticket number is not valid, and you would need to submit for the Twin2x2048-6400C4 set and send both modules as they are not available as single modules sorry! Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.

hawaiiuser
Hello Corsair, Well, received the replacement memory Wednesday. Installed the pair but Windows would blue-screen or give General Protection Faults. And games will quit to the Desktop. Windows not stable! So, I reset the bios jumper to defaults. Set memory to 5,5,5,18 2t 2.1volt and Disabled Legacy USB. All other settings left at Auto. Cpu was default at 2.66 ghz for my Intel E6750. Windows is still not stable. Same problems: blue-screen or GPFs. Then, booted up with both 1.6 version and 2.0 version of Memtest. 1 stick of memory always tests good, no problems, I am using it now to write this. Other stick of memory always gives 3 errors about 7 minutes or 9 minutes into Memtest. Yes, I tried all 4 memory slots with both sticks of Corsair memory, same problem. 1 stick always tests good, the other always gives 3 errors after 7 to 9 minutes. Also, the bad stick will not even boot up into Windows at all when used alone. Can you have one of your techs test a pair of DDR2 800 in their own machine, then mail me that set of memory, and I will return this set one last time please ?? Thank you. Tech Support Express Case [430548] - RMA Shipped RMA number 1045641 Umm, I picked up 1 stick of cheap K-byte $29 DDR2 667 and if I run it dual-channel 667 with your 1 good stick of Corsair memory my Asus P5K-e motherboard runs fine in dual-channel. Will boot up into Windows fine, and run games fine. So the problem is not my Asus P5K-e motherboard. I am running dual channel now with 1 stick Corsair and 1 stick K-byte on the Internet now to type this msg. The bad stick of Corsair when used alone will not boot up into Windows.
