Can't format my Voyager GT 4GB

I have a 4GB voyager GT which worked nicely for a while, but then started being really flaky, and now has finally... died I guess. The first sort of errors it started showing resulted in the file system not being available or there at all. Out of the blue, I couldn't write to it or read anything from it... This happened a couple of times, and the fix for that was to 'Safely remove hardware' and plug it back in and the whole file system would come back. Then after longer while, I started getting errors 'Windows - Delayed write failed', and the whole thing became unusable at that point. Now, I can't even format it anymore. I have tried to format it on at least three different computers. I also read posts on this forum and tried the recommended command line format:

format.com G: /FS:FAT32 /U /V:iNetMarks

and got (I am using a cygwin prompt, hence the $):

$ format.com G: /FS:FAT32 /U /V:iNetMarks

Insert new disk for drive G:

and press ENTER when ready...

The type of the file system is FAT32.

Verifying 3951M

Invalid media or Track 0 bad - disk unusable.

Then I tried a recommendation from another post, to use the HP USB formatting tool:

http://www.inetmarks.com/pix/hp1.JPG

and got the following error, (for the impatient, it says: Device media is write-protected):

http://www.inetmarks.com/pix/hp2.JPG

So, I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with my Voyager GT, but I can't really use it for much. The rubber housing makes it bounce nicely on the table though...

So, Jim... is it dead? Or what am I to do...? Is this covered by the 10 year warranty? Or do I just make it bounce one last time and shell out for a new (non Corsair) USB key..?

Thanks.

Please try to format the drive from a command prompt with this syntax:

Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager)

If you still have problems we can get it or them replaced, please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

... Ram Guy, thanks for your reply but did you like ... even read my post before you replied to it or is this just the standard reply you have for this sort of problem..?

I mean, what gives?
