Xtreeme
Hey got ANOTHER build this week, lol Im busy at income tax time. Specs so far Phenom 9600 Black Edition MSI K9A2 790fx board Corsair Twin2x2048-8500C5D Two HD3850 cards no intent of 4 cards at this time WD 2500ks 16mb cache x2 in raid 0 2 120mm case fans lol Which would be best. Im think 750HX due to the phenom and the HD3850's. Ive never owned a corsair psu though, so its hard for me to suggest which model to him. Thanks. The 3850s are fairly low-power cards, but running in Crossfire with a Phenom 9600 could still take some power. You don't really need a super-high-end system there, but I'd recommend at least a 620/650 unit just to keep it quiet under max load. HX620 or TX650 would work fine. If you want to get the TX750, that would work as well, and give him some headroom. The HX620 would have modular cables, but otherwise is very similar to the TX650. Xtreeme
thanks for the reply powerguy! OK, now that I know your recomendations Ill run it by him and let him choose, power for now-or more for later. I feel better knowing that any of those 3 will handle it! He may prefer modular so thanks for that info aswell.:):
