CommandrX
Hello I'm am currently looking to up my ram to it's max of 4GB. And since I have had no problems with my current Corsair ULL modules I'm looking to stick with what works. Memory Configurator recommends "TWINX2048-3200C2PT Module", but requires 2.75v and my board only supports 2.6v. I've read that the voltage can be adjusted on the D875PBZ but can not find where to do this (Jumper,BIOS). Board: Intel D875PBZ rev.C27085-208 BIOS:P34 CPU: 3.4Ghz Prescott SL7E6 Memory: Current TwinX1024 CMX512-3200XLPT 2-2-2-5 Video: BFG 7800GS OC Thank you for your time :):
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 5, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 5, 2008 Look for the Menu Item called Burn In mode when you enable this you should be able to set the memory Voltage. If you do not have that option then I am sorry these modules may not be compatible with that MB and I would suggest using VS512MB400 modules instead. CommandrX
Thanks Ram Guy, unfortunately this revision does not support voltage tweaking. I'll just keep looking for another pair of TwinX1024 CMX512-3200XLPT and call it quits for this system.
RJLeong65
Thanks Ram Guy, unfortunately this revision does not support voltage tweaking. I'll just keep looking for another pair of TwinX1024 CMX512-3200XLPT and call it quits for this system. If you have success with those 3200XL modules (which, by the way, have been discontinued for well over a year now), then more power to you. Those 3200XL's require a DIMM voltage of at least 2.75V in order to work reliably on most systems. If your AA revision of the D875PBZ lacks any provision at all whatsoever for voltage tweaking, you're better off with a pair of memory modules designed to work at 2.5V or 2.6V even if they have relatively high latency timings. I'm currently running TwinX1024 CMX512-3200XLPT right now with no problems. I also ran them in my D865GBF board as well with no problems with 2.5v @ 2.0-2-2-5 < the board selected this by default. The only reason I retired that board was because my revision did not support the Prescott or EE. Worst case scenario I'm going to find a rev. 303 board that allows for voltage modification. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2008 XMS3200XL modules also require 2.75 Volts minimum so if you get another set they may not work either.
