falconium
Hi Guys, I would like to pair the elements mentioned in the subject. I'm going to buy all together 4 memory modules (2x kit). Will these modules work properly without any overclocking? Thank you for the prompt answer in advance! Regards, falconium
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2008 Yes but they all need to be the same part number and DDR667 would be suggested.
falconium
I just found the compatibilitz list and see there's difference between 6400PRO and 6400C4PRO; is it true 6400PRO doesn't have LEDs? http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=160730#other_modules
falconium
Yes but they all need to be the same part number and DDR667 would be suggested. Thank you for the answer! That's why I wanted to buy all the modules at the same time to avoid differencies. Why 667 is better for this than 800?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2008 When you install more than two modules with most MB's you would need to relax the memory a bit because of loading on the memory controller.

Thank you! And if I would use them just on maximum 667?
falconium
Sorry, is the following valid? I just found the compatibility list and see there's difference between 6400PRO and 6400C4PRO; is it true 6400PRO doesn't have LEDs? http://www.corsair.com/configurator/...#other_modules
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 5, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 5, 2008 The only difference would be the rated timings Cas 5-5-5-12 for XM2S-6400C5Pro and Cas 4-4-4-12 for XM2S-6400C4Pro. And both modules sets have activity LED's if they are the Pro version.
falconium
When you install more than two modules with most MB's you would need to relax the memory a bit because of loading on the memory controller. This means I cannot operate 4 modules at the same time on 800MHz, just on 667MHz because of the controller, therefore it is enough to have the 667MHz modules, doesn't it? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 6, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 6, 2008 You can try it and see but it is hit and miss and they do suggest DDR667 with that MB with 4 modules. And I would set the NB/MCH Voltage to +.05-.2 Volts over default.
