sman26
I currently have the Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4 (so 2 GB total) memory in my GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R mobo and it has been working fine. I did hear however that i may not be working to its highest potential and it could be played with as far as the voltage in the BIOS of the mobo? I find a place in "MB Intelligence Tweaker" that says, "DDR2 over voltage control" do I bump it up to say "+0.3"? If I do it says, "Warning: memory modules maybe damaged or reduced life when overvoltaged!" There is also a section to change called "SYSTEM MEMORY MULTIPLIER (SPD)" that is now set to AUTO but has options for 3.00/2.50/4.0+/3.33/3.20/2.40/2.00...should I adjust any of these? I just recently purchased another pair of the CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400C4. Can i just pop those in without any other settings to adjust? Thanks for your help. sman26
I have added the CPU...the other stuff I don't have with me right now but knowing CPU (Intel E6750 core 2 duo) and mobo should be all that is needed for now. Thanks and please let me know if you have any help for my question.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2008 Just set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts +.03 Volts and then set the tested settings for the memory timings should be all you need to set. You can get the settings from the link in my signature.
sman26
So would "DDR2 over voltage control" be the same as "voltage control". Bump it up to +0.3. I will look at the setting the "tested settings for the memory timings" tonight. Would that be the 4-4-4-12 stuff? I'll look at your signature too. thx. DerekT
4-4-4-12 2T is the timings you want to test to see if those are in fact 6400C4's. +.3 DRAM and you are running on a 333Mhz FSB so your memory multiple should be 2.4 as 2.4 X 333 = ~800Mhz. sman26
DerekT, It there a good site which explains a little more what all the timing and overvoltaging means on the RAM? Seems like now a days the 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-18 number are important. They were never talked about much when I bought RAM for my old build. Thanks.
