Asus Striker Extreme + Corsair TWIN2X2048-9136C5D

Hello i have Striker Extreme mobo and 3 pairs of Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-9136C5D (= 6 sticks). I tested the mem at EVGA reference 680i mobo and it's runs and overclocks just fine. But for many monthes i can't make it run even on recommended speeds at Striker Extreme. Best what i have achieved that mobo _sometimes_ work for some time with two sticks (without overclock of system at all) on 800MHZ (memory) and timings (all auto or 5-5-5-15-2T, and all other auto). But always one day it will not post with a DRAM INIT on LCD again (usually it happens on a "cold system start" in the morning, or more rarely it's ended with BSOD).

In searching the way to solve my problem again i founded the tech report today:

http://www.corsair.com/testreports/report_print.aspx?r_id=190270&p_id=15763&m_id=15945

And there is an interesting comment:

Used "unlink" for CPU and memory FSB. Only stable with BIOS 1203

I tried to use different BIOS settings but none of them helped me, but i always used the new version of bios, at this moment 1305, and have't tried to use older ones like 1203.

Can u suggest me BIOS settings what i must set to make this modules work properly on 1142MHZ 5-5-5-15 on new versions of BIOS, or i have only one exit from my situation - try old BIOS versions?

With only two modules installed please go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and then set the memory Voltage at 2.1 Volts and set the Command Rate to 2t manually and then set SLI Ready memory to CPU Max and exit the BIOS saving changes and see if it will post and run properly. If not please disable legacy USB and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org.

Thx it's seems to work, i've tested a bit and for that time it's ok. About memtest i'm testeted with it and orthos 2004 - Large FFTs all memory on reference EVGA 680i mobo - and all mem was workabable and stable, just problems with striker.

It will be perfect if u give additionally information about MANUAL (not EPP) settings for striker (to work on default speeds of course), for this memory (in this case i will be able to experiment with oc of proccessor and memory, what u can't do while using EPP).

UPDATE: a little more test showed that all not good i have 3 crushes of Battlefield 2 (it's consumes a lot of memory), what i have't got with using other mem... But i still know that modules are fine - all problems in their compatability with mobo, i'll try to do memtest86+ in closer time.

I am snot sure what you are asking but I can only support the tested settings anything beyond or bellow that would be trail and error on your part. Sorry.

Please see the Performance Reports on these modules and other like modules to get an idea of the MB's and what we did to run them at the tested settings.

Check my update =\ in previous post. I asked about: how to set the stock speeds (1142MHZ 5-5-5-15) to work propely but without using EPP PROFILE and CPU-OC-MAX, but using instead BIOS Setitings (MANUAL) and dividers \ timing for mem.

Example:

Ai Tuning: Manual

FSB memory clock mode: UNLINKED

MEM (DDR), MHZ: 1142

Timings:

tCL (CAS latency): 5

tRCD : 5

tRP : 5

tRAS : 5

Command Per Clock (CMD): 1clock

Additional timings:....

and so on...

All of the settings would be posted in the link in my signature and if a setting is not listed it should be left at Auto or BIOS default.

With these modules I doubt the MB will run the memory like that you would need to link the Memory frequency and over clock the CPU manually.
