Andy_62
Ram guy I need your help! I just finished assembling a PC with a Striker Extreme (sigh!!) and a TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX G. Now the issue is that with both stick on the board the system doesn't go on and on the min display it says DET RAM. So I have tried with one of the two and it is working fine, the other one seems to be the bad one. Is there anything to do or I am just so unlucky that I found the bad one. The system has no software installed, just booting to BIOS. Thanks in advance  Andy
DerekT
To be clear, you have tried both sticks singly in the first slot closest to the CPU and one failed, the other works?
Andy_62
I have tried both sticks singly in all slots and always one is not recognized by the mobo, avoiding the boot up. Sorry for bein unclear.
DerekT
Since one is not working and the other works for boot, then there is no need to test with Memtest I would think. RAM GUY will deal with this warranty situation. You can either RMA through your retailer or Corsair.
Andy_62
You mean is real a DOA stick? That's very sad. Do you suggest to send them both back as the are twin modules or just one? I have just installed them with default BIOS value, would it make any change if I set the voltage up to 2.1V? Moreover I am using an ANTEC True Power 550W which is ATX2.0 compliant, which basically mean that the additional power connector for the board is four wires instead of 8. On the user manual it says it makes no difference, I would think so too but would like to get your advice as well. Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts (+.3 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
Andy_62
Ram guy, I have already tried that,I have read throughout the forumbefore posting. It is not question of memtest it,the stickis not recognized by the board at all and the system doesn't even boot into BIOS. I am afraid is a real DOA. Thanks Andrea
