RASEVEN
I just a bought a new pc, with a ASUS P5B-SE motherboard, and CM2X1024-6400C4 memory. And i am getting BSOD and crashes a lot. I updated the BIOS, changed memery slots, run memtest (had a lot of errors.) Now i found out that my motherboard doesnt support 2.1 V for the memory. Only 1.9V (max). Any idea how can run my PC smoothly?
DerekT
With that board you would need DRAM such as 6400C5DHX to run correctly. The DRAM you have is NOT a match for that board.

DerekT
6400C4 requires 2.1V to run. Can you remove one stick and boot with a single stick?
RASEVEN
I did that already, still BSOD :( ps i also have a PC with a P5B, also having sum BSOD with 4 GB of memery, the same as in the P5B-SE. But i can put the Volts to 2.1, but i still have crashes....??
DerekT
With the 4GB of memory system, you need to remove two sticks, setup your Vdimm to 2.1v, MCH (Northbridge) to 1.4V and the bandwidth lowered to 667 to facilitate the use of all four banks. Then install the second set. Restart. This link might help you understand the issue. Please take your time when you go through it. RASEVEN
Well it seems i have fixed the problem. 6400C5DHX, although 1.8 V, doesnt work either. But Your Corshair Value Select 1 GB DDR2 667mhz PC2-5300 works pretty fine for now :D
DerekT
Thanks for the heads up. I will remember that for the P5B-SE. SE Stands for "Sucks Edition" :P

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 5, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 5, 2008 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts and set the timings manually to Cas 5-5-5-15 and TRC to 24 and write to precharge delay to 15 and test with http://www.memtest.org to make sure its stable but you also need to disable legacy USB when running any memory test on that MB.
