karmapolice
Hey guys, I got a new mobo today, Asrock 4coredual and the webstore recommended Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 675MHz/PC2-5400 XMS Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL4(4-4-4-12) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty. I have a bare bones sytem at the moment but when i unpack any zipped or rar files they corrupt..when i remove a 1gb stick of ram only some files are corrupt and when i run the files on my laptop there not corrupt. Is the Ram ive been sold compatible with my Asrock board and/or do i have to tweak the bios to get the ram to work, or should i send the ram back to the store. Cpu is a Dual-core E2160 not overclocked at the moment. please help..as i have not much hair left.... thank in advance karmapolice
bigbuck08
Please test each module individually with Memtest. You can get it Here. Burn the ISO image to a disc. Load BIOS defaults and then run Memtest atleast two passes per module.
