jgale
This is a question for a Dell Dimension 4600. Yes, I understand that this is an old computer..but I was looking to upgrade the ram so I bought the TWINX2048 pc3200PT kit. I am getting the 6 beeps when I turn the computer on indicating memory failure. I assume that this ram is simply not compatible with my old rig, but I was just coming on here to make sure. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. John EDIT: I just used Newegg's compat checker, and it says that the ram I bought is compatible. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=4017&Configurator=MemoryConfigurator&CFG=CFG003Dimension+4600&name=%24100+-+%24200 So do you think it's possible for both sticks to be bad and I'd have to send them in for RMA? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2008 That is not true and the only part on that list would be VS2GBKIT400C3 as long as you have an 800 FSB CPU if not you would need to use VS1GB333 modules

jgale
So I am correct in saying that the ram I purchased is not compatible with my pc? If so I'm out 15% for a restock fee :( I do have a 800mz fsb cpu so I guess I'll just have to go with the Value Select ram. I knew that newegg would lie to me about compatibility issues.
