gokhan76
hi, I have just build a new system with an Asus P5E Moterboard now when I test the rams on all the default settings it gives me error. Even I tested with 667 settings the result was same and replaced the rams with the new ones from reseller same problem again What could be the possible problem....? Is there some settings that I dont know on this Motherboard needs to be changed? If you guys can help me please... PS: or is it could be X38 is too new for memtest 1.7 which they haven't said on their website if there was a support for this new chipset ...... Thanks, Gokhan
gokhan76
I just tried testing my spare 1gb 5400c4 on this motherboard and ram passed the test. After that I put the newly replaced 6400C4 ram one of the sticks everything is set to auto on the motherboard. And there it goes error again on 800mhz 6400C4 and it happens on single stick which is impossible because I just returned the bad ones and these are the brand new sticks it can be possible. I dont' know what the problem here is now. Please some help... Thanks,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2008 Please set the memory voltage to 2.1 volts and then retest the modules one at a time and see if you are still having any errors!
gokhan76
This is getting interesting actually... Last night I took this 4 x 1gb Corsair 6400C4 's and chucked in to my old P5B Deluxe which only detected 3GB but all on all there was no fault after 5 test on memtest. So what I have done I took the XXXXX Rams from the P5B Deluxe which was 800 bus with heatsink 5-5-5-18 And put it in to my P5E and tests was unbelievable no errors even after 4th test. What is this ??? I have the latest 601 bios and I tried every possibilty on bios settings for Corsairs. I have started testing the ram from 1.8 through to the 2.12 but still getting same errors I have no idea. I have done what you have suggested but still errors coming up on memtest... I don't have solution yet for this motherboard...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2008 Test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org on your P5E board. Load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.1 volts, and the memory timings to 4-4-4-12. If you get errors with multiple modules in this board, and the modules tested fine on the P5B, then there may not be a memory problem.
eyes.only
come on people, we know what the problem is. biosses higher than 0201 have problems with a lot of memory sticks, not just corsair. Asus engineers have changed something in the code of the bios that they havn't still fixed after about 5 bios updates. Lof of people complaining, but Asus is reacting like they don't know about the problem. Last Asus board for me. O yeah, changing back to older bios 0201 is not easy. Google on it and you will find it, or better, RMA the board. Especially if you have a new type of cpu which is only supported with higher biosses than 0201. Ram Guy, don't you have any contacts at Asus to tell about the problem? Can't be that difficult for them to fix. I emailed them and a lot of other people, dozens of times. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 4, 2008 If the modules are passing memtest in a different system there may not be a faulty memory module, and I would recommend testing them 1 at a time at their tested settings to see if this is a configuration issue or if there is possibly another component in the system that is failing.
