HX520W Beep When Powering Off

I was suggested the HX520W to use with my system a while back. The system is working fine and completely stable. Whenever I power the system off I hear a single high pitched beep from the power supply as the computer turns off. It doesn't do it any other time except when powering off. Its not really that much of a problem, I'm just wondering if it's normal or potentially a bad sign of something. If its not a big deal i can live with it. Ive heard other power supplies make a similar sound when powering off, but not anywhere near this loud.

(Note: It does it when turning off from windows, holding the power button, and flipping the switch on the back of the PSU, but not while rebooting or anything else)

Anyways, thanks for any input about this.

I heard somewhere that the beep happen with the NVidia 8800 graphic card. When you power off your PC, the alarm on the Graphic Card toggle making the beep because of not getting power from the PSU. Since the PSU shut off, but the Graphic Card is still on for a few second. I'm using NVidia 8800 as well, but there isn't any beep when shutting down, maybe only happen with only certein Motherboard. You should swap to another PSU to see if it's the Corsair PSU itself.

Well, I had another power supply in the system before I installed the HX520, and there was no beeping noise when powering off. It only started once I got the HX520, so I was just assuming that the noise was coming from the PSU itself, but thats a good theory about the card making the noise.

Load setup/optimized defaults in the BIOS, and make sure you have the latest BIOS and see if you have the same issues. If you still get the beep it is most likely that the systems power down sequence is milliseconds off and the video card is losing power before the system is completely powered down.
