Squinkle
I have owned the Corsair HX620 for over 6 months now and have loved it. I recently completed a new system build (new hardware and case) and I noticed today that my power supply fan is NOT spinning. Now I am pretty sure the fan used to spin when it was in my old system, but my old mid-tower case was much louder and hotter than my P182. The power supply is running pretty cool even with the fan not running, but when I load my CPU and video card, the fan still doesn't turn on. I even tried to briefly heat the power supply up with a blow dryer, but still the fan doesn't turn on. Is this normal or do I have a defective unit? There is nothing obstructing the fan as far as I can tell, and I was very careful when installing the power supply in my new case (didn't drop it or drop anything into it lol). Any help or advice is appreciated. I searched this topic and couldn't find any threads on it. Thanks in advance.
division101
It look like the fan may get stuck to something making it not spin, but I think the fan motor may have died making it not spin anymore. It's not normal for a PSU not to spin. You should get it replace ASAP, you can use it for awhile, but without the fan spinning, it could fried the PSU and may kill some of your other hardware as well.
