drdoug99
Hello, and sorry to bother you all. I am trying to build 3 computers for work. They consist of the following: Gigabyte GA-M61SME-S2 AMD Socket AM2 Motherboard. AMD AM2 5000+ Dual Core Processor Corsair XMS2 DDR2 TWIN2x2048-6400 memory, the 2x1GB matched pair 1 out of the 3 has been successful in POST'ing and being able to load Windows. The other 2, the motherboard are working, as when I remove both sticks of memory, the board emits the series of beeps to indicate there is no memory. If I have one memory stick installed in slot 2, the board will usually POST. If I have one memory stick in slot 1, the board usually does NOT POST, but I have had it POST once. I just received a new motherboard of the same kind and the same Corsair memory, and it does the same thing, if I have 2 memory sticks installed, nothing, memory in slot 1, nothing, yet slot 2 will usually work 8 out of 10 times I'd say. Yet the weird thing is I have one system I built that exhibited none of these issues, fired right up with both memory sticks the first time, and Windows is up and running fine. Any clue as what I can try?? Thanks for your time.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2008 With the MB that is working please test the other modules one at a time and make sure one is not failing. If the modules all work in the other system then there is some other problem with the other systems and I would use the working system to test the CPU's and then the Video Cards and go from there.
