sbiswas
I'm trying to upgrade the RAM on my HP Pavilion 763n. I used the ram tool here: http://www.corsair.com/configurator/ but it only gives me this: Memory Type » DDR-266 (PC-2100) Size » 512MB Latency » 2.5-3-3-3-2T Format » 184-pin DIMM Heat Spreader » None and recommends only this memory: VS512MB266 Module I want to upgrade to 2 1GB modules. Am I restricted to to DDR-266 PC-2100 or can I use faster modules (for example DDR-400 PC-3200)? Faster modules should work fine at slower clock speeds? Wired
The modules can underclock, but the computer may not have the capability to understand how to do so.
sbiswas
Ok, thanks. I did the online chat with HP and they say that higher speed may not work so not recommended.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2008 I would suggest using a module that was suggested by HP in this case. Sorry but we do not offer a 1.0 Gig PC-2100 un-buffered module.
