jtwork
Help Please: I am getting the 0X0000007B stop code on a new clean install with the following equipment: All new hardware: two Seagate 320 300 Sata drives, Corsair twin 2X4096 DDR2 Ram, Pioneer DVD drive (sata), and a very generic PCI video card. The only BIOS changes made from the default settings are: SATA RAID/AHCI Mode set to RAID Onboard SATA/IDE Device set to Enabled Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode set to RAID/IDE SATA Port0-3 Native Mode (intel ICH9R Southbridge) set to Enabled I have configured a RAID volume for both drives as a RAID 1 they are seen on port 00 and port 01 as this RAID volume. I have loaded the RAID driver provided on the F6 option. I end up with a stop code 0X0000007B preceeding the set up. I am attempting the OS load with a new OEM Windows Xp pro/sp2 (32bit). The Gigabyte support (what little there is) is alluding to the memory but I have tried sticks in single, dual, differtent banks, and another brand with the same results. I have no other ideas to try - any help would be greatly appreciated. My end goal is to end up with a dual boot system running XP pro/sp2 (32bit) and Vista (64). I would like to load the XP first however, if I can't resolve this load problem I am considering loading the Vista (64bit) first. Any comments? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 29, 2008 When you do the Install what size are you making the Boot partition for WinXP? The issue you have posted would suggest a driver issue or maybe the configuration and I would try the install with just one module installed and don't make the Boot partition bigger that 64 Gig and see if it will let you finish the Install. I am up and running. I wanted to finish posting to this thread so that others might benifit. RAM Guy - I wasn't even able to get to the boot partition before the 07B stop code. You had the right instinct however, because the problem was a driver issue. After convincing the Gigabyte tech service that it probably was not a memory problem they responded with the following: "Answer : please check two drive set to Raid on Intel or Gigabyte ? if Intel ( Orange color ) make sure provide Intel ICH9R Raid driver if gigabyte ( purple color ) provide GBB Raid driver incorrect driver provided will cause Stop error . by the way test load winxp with single stick memory only if issue persist swap out the current memory this can help to find out if one of the memory was not stable cause Stop error . " I then only loaded one driver - the Intel ICH9R Raid driver. The Gigabyte manual is very poor on this issue and the supplied CD is pretty unclear on the driver isssue or which are which. (at least it was to a novice like myself:):) Thank you for such a nice forum and help
