drizzt8
I am in the process of building a new computer and I've decided to take a step forward and liquid cool it. Now so far I am just going to liquid cool the CPU and move towards the GPUs and RAM later. However I wanted to make sure that before I decide to buy Corsair's RAM, that the built on heat sink was removable? As far as I know, most RAM liquid cooling is not compatible and/or has low performance when used in conjunction with RAM that has a built on heat sink. So just wondering if the heat sink is easily removable on your products?
Garvin
Not likely, they're bonded, besides removing them (the heatsinks) will void the warranty and will also likely ruin the underlying IC's.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 29, 2008 Removing the heatsinks would void the lifetime warranty, and most likely destroy the IC's underneath. If you are looking for extra cooling for your memory I would recommend our Dominator Airflow fan (part # CMXAF1) as it would most likely out perform any watercooled memory when paired with our DHX or Dominator modules.
