Dalork
Hi all, Just wanted to know what is meant by "lifetime warranty" on Corsairs RAM. I was reading on some other forums and people had different ideas of what it meant so I wanted it cleared up. Also does overclocking Corsairs RAM void warranty as again I read some people say no, while others say yes. So I thought it best to ask here  I'm currently building a new system for myself to run Vista 64 and just bought 2 lots of Corsair's XMS2 Twin2X4096-6400C5DHX. I guess it's a bit late to ask seeing as I've already paid for them lol, but are these ok memory units ?
Wired
8 GB? why? Overkill for 99% of PC applications. OC does not void warranty, but OVERVOLTING will.
Dalork
Well I didn't need 8gig, but with all the apps I run and the high res images and encoding I make good use of 4gig. Also I'll be running Vista 64bit which Vista makes good use of extra RAM and pre-caches programs into memory so none of the RAM should really be going to waste. Besides it's so cheap these days theres no excuse for trying to make do with too little IMO. Also thanks for the reply, so Overclocking is fine so long as you don't go over 2.1v ? Deathspine
I purchased Corsair memory off eBay; does it cover the lifetime warranty or is it considered end user purchased and not covered by the lifetime warranty. Some of these ebay sellars are truly running a new age business of ebay and could be considered dealers. Given the excellent support from Corsair I would like to comply with Corairs views before requesting a RMA. Of my pair only one stick is bad. If not covered by warranty any options to purchase one stick? Thanks Patrick

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2008 Here's the info: Warranty Information This lifetime warranty applies to parts that were purchased from Corsair-authorized resellers, or were supplied by Corsair directly. Authorized resellers are resellers who are listed on Corsair’s web site at the time of module purchase.
