sigkill -9
I purchased 2 gigs of Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-6400C3D (3-4-3-9 timings) roughly 3 months ago, but just two days ago my computer started acting weird then after a restart wouldn't boot to the O/S at all. Instead, it gave a series of long, then short beeps continuously with a blank screen, didn't even go as far as loading up the BIOS. After some hair pulling hours trying to figure out what happened I concluded that both my ram sticks died. I came to this conclusion after testing each ram stick in each ram slot separately (one at a time) with no successful boot. I then took my ram to a friends house and plugged it into his working computer. His computer also wouldn't post with my ram in it. Then I borrowed one of his ram sticks (also Corsair) and plugged it into my board and viola! It booted with his ram proving that both my ram sticks are D E A D. I've come to depend on and trust Corsair memory, but this has sort of tarnished my take on Corsair. I mean, this ram was only 3 months old, never overclocked, ran at stock settings in BIOS and at the recommended voltage, had 3-4-3-9 timings set manually in BIOS as well. Everything was set up for it to work fine, but it failed none the less. You would think that high quality, expensive ram like this would work perfect while running at the manufacturer recommended settings. Sunday evening (1/20/08) I filled out the Tech Support Express form to start the RMA process. I have yet to hear back from Corsair staff. I am a college student and depend on my PC for homework and projects. As of now I am dead in the water. I need this ram replaced very quickly. How long does it take to hear back from Corsair after filling out a Tech Support Express form? How long will it take to get my replaced ram? -------------------------------------------------------- My hardware: -------------------------------------------------------- CPU: AMD X2 6400+ Black Edition dual core 3.2Ghz stock Mobo: ASUS Crosshair RAM: 2 gigs Corsiar Dominator TWIN2X2048-6400C3DF Video: Two nVidia FX 8600 GTS in SLI, water cooled Power: Antec TruePower Trio 600 watt Case: Nextherm ICS-8600 air conditioned full tower O/S: XP Pro on HD 1, Vista Premium on HD 2 Storage: Hitachi Deskstar 320 Gig, Western Digital 120 gig

sigkill -9
Thanks, I finally received the RMA forms via email today. One question though; When I bought the ram, it came in a package that contained both ram sticks, and a cooling fan. Should I put the ram and cooling fan back in the original package and send that to Corsair? Or should I just send the ram sticks themselves (in an anti-static bag of course, not that it matters... they're dead anyway...)? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 Just send the memory, its not necessary to have the fan replaced!
