jimpalompa
I am getting bluescreens from time to time. I do not know if i have the correct settings in bios for the memory. Should I set it all on auto or should I set i manualy? The memory says 2.1V on it, I have +0.30 in bios at the time. I do not know if its my graphics card or my memory thats not working as it should, but my computer should be working much better during gameplay, since everything is new up to date stuff. Been getting bluescreens now and the in Media Center and games as well. Please help. I want to know what the correct timings, voltage should be for this memory in bios. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR800 and test the system with http://www.memtest.org and you can get the tested settings from the link in my signature. And with 4 modules I would suggest setting the MCH/NB Voltage to +.05 Volts.
jimpalompa
I can't find the tested settings in your signature link. Can you please describe me there, or have a direct link?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2008 From the link in my signature: But with your MB the CPU Frequency will be set as default and you would need to manually set the memory frequency at DDR1066/533 Mhz Testing parameters for Twinx/XMS2-8500/C5: Twin2x1024-8500 Data Sheet Twin2x2048-8500C5 Data Sheet Motherboard make and model: Asus M2N32-SLI Premium/Deluxe Each pair is tested and packaged together using the following settings: AI Over Clock Tuner: Manual OC Operation: Disabled NOS Operation: Disabled CPU External Frequency: Manually set to 268 MHz PCI CLK1: Auto PCI CLK2: Auto DDR2 Voltage control: 2.200V CPU Core Voltage: Auto CPU Multiplier: 10 DDR2 SDRAM Clock: Manually set to 800MHz DRAM Timing Selectable: Manual SDRAM CAS Latency: 5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 5T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 5T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 15T SDRAM Write Recovery Time: 5 1T/2T: 2T A1 Clock Skew: Auto Advanced voltage control CPU Vcore offset:_Disabled DDR2 Termination: 0.5x CPU to NB HT:____1.200V NB to SB HT:_____AUTO NB Core/PCI-E:___AUTO SB Core/PCI-E:___AUTO SB Standby core:_+1.500V Output driver control CKE:______AUTO CS/ODT:__1.00X ADD/CMD:_1.00X MEMCLK:__1.00X All other settings are motherboard defaults. jimpalompa
Wow you're fast! Thank you. But are you suggesting I set the memory on 800 (default) or 1066? Voltage at +0.5?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2008 Default for your CPU is 266 Mhz and the with that MB and CPU just set the CPU as default and set the memory frequency and Timings manually.
jimpalompa
Where should I edit settings manually? For the voltage. I have these options and settings today: DDR2 OverVoltage Control: [Normal] (G)MCH OverVoltage Control: [Normal] also MCH Reference Votage Control [Normal] DDR Reference Votage Control [Normal] Which one/s should I change to +0.05 as you wrote earlier? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2008 Usually in frequency and Voltage control. However some MB makers like to rename things from reference naming scheme so if you do not find it in your manual or MB I would suggest contacting the MB maker to help you with the settings. DDR2 OverVoltage Control: +.3 Volts (G)MCH OverVoltage Control: +.05 Volts also If you increase the reference Voltage you are changing the default setting. IE: reference DDR2 Voltage is 1.8 Volts so what every you add to reference would be set as default or DDR2 OverVoltage Control: +.3 Volts + DDR Reference Votage Control [Normal] = 2.1 Volts But if I understand what GigaByte is saying, and I would Strongly suggest asking them. They wrote the BIOS and they should understand it. MCH Reference Votage Control [Normal] DDR Reference Votage Control [Normal]
