steelman93
This is for a new build. The system will start to boot and I can get into the bios, but within 1 minute it crashes. The screen goes blank, but the fans continue to spin. I have to hit reset and then power to shut down. It seems like a stability issue, but I can't figure out where. I checked all the connections and standoffs. I have also tried booting with no drives attached, with the same result. I have a Duorb on the video card and a zerotherm BTF90 on the CPU. The highest CPU temp IO have seen in the bios is 23C, right before a crash. TIA for the help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS and then load setup defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test. Also you might need to get the latest Beta BIOS for that CPU but I would check with MSI"s Tech support to be sure if this does not solve it. steelman93
Thank you for the reply. I do have the latest bios version. I have a request into MSI's tech support, but have not heard anything. This CPU is listed on their website as supported by that board and bios version, but they don't have any compatible ram listed. In your experience should these modules be compatible with that board?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 Yes they will not be a problem with that Chipset, did you test the modules one at a time to make sure its not just a failing module?
