division101
I'm getting a strange high pitch beep noise every now and then using this Power Supply in my PC. It happen randomly at time, but once in awhile I can hear it and it's driving me insane. Today I put my ear close to it while my PC is running and I can clearly hear it from the Power Supply. Is this normal? I have never experience any PSU that emit a high pitch beep noise. Did I get a defect one? What should I do?

division101
The high pitch I hear is not normal and when it got hot and get a lot worse. Sometime I clear a 3 high pitch beep in a row. I would like to do an RMA to get a replacement to see if it's solved the problem because there is no way I can live with this sound. How do I do an RMA? When I use the form it seam like I need an approval first, that's why I ask here first. Thank You
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 If you would like to get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. However, if you have the same issues with a replacement, there is most likely something else causing it.
division101
I'm certain the problem is indeed coming from the Corsair PSU, I even try to re-create the problem a couple of times to make sure it's the Corsair PSU. If I put my ear next to it I can hear the high pitch beep out of the PSU. After filling out the RMA process, explaining all the problem and my system specs, as well as stating it's the Corsair PSU and would like to get a replacement to see if it would solved the problem, I get an email back asking me to explain the problem once again and my computer spec, what's causing it, etc, instead of issuing me an RMA to have it replace! It's like being told I lied about it, and not wanting give me a replacement. This is my first time buying from Corsair and being very dissatisfied with this whole situation already. EliteKiller
division101, it's unfortunate that you're making assumptions and inconvenienced over this relatively simply procedure. Instead of venting in this forum all you need to do is reply to the email with a link to this thread. Otherwise call their toll free number and speak to a live person. :eyebuldge
Wired
When filling out the RMA form, did you check the box that says "I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy", and did you enter in your Post ID #?

Already send them email 2 to 3 times already. Still waiting yet for them to reply again and for an RMA number. Didn't know it take so much work just to get a replacement for a faulty PSU. I been living with this noise for weeks, may try running to a local store and grab an Antec PSU for replacement now. Sorry for the venting, but if you are in my situation you feel the same too. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 23, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 23, 2008 Let me know the case number and I'll make sure it has been approved! Normally if you don't check the "I have already talked to RamGuy" box we will try to help you resolve the issue before replacing a product.
