akshayxyz
Hi, First time i inserted it, it was showing 16 gb free space. (along with the encryption s/w) Next time windows (xp ) complained that it is not formatted, I had no choice but to format it. Since then it is showing as 7.56(8) gb only. Above that, even if i copy 4 gb file it complains that not enough disk space. I noticed that some one else also had similar problem and the person is suggested to go for replacement. But before that I wnt to explore whether there is any software solution possible (driver or something). Since the shipped package was showing everything as expected. Besides, since I am placed in India, I suspect that the shipping cost involved in getting a replacement would turn out to be a lot for me. I can provide the product id or any other information of the product, that can help verifying whether the product is what it is meant to be. Any suggestions, pointers are very much appreciated. Thanks, Akshay
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2008 If reformatting the drive does not recover the lost space then we would want to get the drive replaced. Keep in mind that with the FAT32 file system you can not use any file larger than 4GB, and you would need to reformat the drive with a different file system if you plan on using 4GB+ files. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
akshayxyz
Thansk for the prompt response. What is the recommended way to format it. default format from winxp doesnt recognize it with proper size. ( that only messed the whole thing). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 Please try to format the drive from a command prompt with this syntax: Format (X:) /FS:FAT32 /U (X=the drive letter assigned to the Flash Voyager) If you still have problems we can get it or them replaced, please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! zenman53186
I am having a similar problem related to the formatting. I have a 32G Voyager and cannot copy files greater than 4+G. How would I format it in NTFS? The Win2000 OS I'm using doesn't provide an option for formating in anything other than FAT32. Zen

bradbarfield
Seems like this post got a little off topic... I guess? I have a 16 GB flash voyager that is showing 8.18 gb free (with no files on the disk): http://www.mrmiddleamerica.com/flash.png I do know what happened to mine drive, though. Was creating a dual boot Ubuntu system... had the flash drive in the usb port... 1:AM... At any rate, I am with a 16 gb flash drive that is showing 8 gb free... Any suggestions on getting this drive reformatted with 16 GB? Thanks, Brad
