valva
I have a 4GB kit CM2X2048-6400C5 RAM on a ASUS P5N-E SLI Motherboard. Can you tell me the correct bios settings, and please explain it so a bios newbie can understand it, normally when I buy RAM It just works, but this time I get a lot of hanging in vista 64. I have updated vista 100%, installed latest drivers and the newest bios update. (Had a lot of trouble getting vista installed in the first place, guess CM2X2048-6400C5, P5N-E SLI and vista 64 is not the best combination) Best Regards Valva
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 You can get the timings from the link in my signature and I would set the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.0 Volts and set the NB/MCH Voltage to +.05 Volts. Then test with http://www.memtest.org and disable legacy USB in the BIOS when running the test.
valva
You said that: You can get the timings from the link in my signature Yes I can read, and I have browsed the net. ASUS support site, Microsoft support site and Corsair Web site, I have found a lot of timings’ to a lot of modules with almost the same product number but not the exact one this including your link in your signature, that why I wrote: Can you tell me the correct bios settings, and please explain it so a bios newbie can understand it, normally when I buy RAM It just works. Please tell me the correct timing to my module: 4GB kit CM2X2048-6400C5 Ver. 1.3 - 1.9V - 5-5-5-12 Please copy paste the timing from your document, the more places you paste it to, more people will find it and you will get less questions. Wired
They are there, listed as TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX (which is comprised of two CM2X2048-6400C5 sticks, which aren't sold separately as far as I can tell).
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 22, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 22, 2008 If you need help with the settings and you do not know how to translate the settings to your BIOS you can call the MB makers Tech support to help you or please call our Tech support 800-205-7657. But it should be straight forward for the MB you have listed P5N-E SLI.
