NeoSmolf
I have a pair of XMS6404v2.1 (CM2X1024-6400C4D). The setup: ASUS Commando Xeon 3060 XMS6404v2.1 WD 500GB SATA Inno8800GTS NorthQ Godzilla The problem: The sticks will not run 800mhz unless they get 2.3volt. They are not stable at 800mhz I get random BSOD. My machine tells me I have a Dram error on boot, and I have to install a pair of Corsair PC-5400 in order to boot the machine to windows and if I’m lucky, then I can shut down change the memory and boot on the Dominators. Will not run with any other sticks installed at all (thise + any other dominators or other memory sticks). Fails Memtest86+. I have tried the memory in 3 different ASUS Commandos, and in one ASUS Maximus SE, I have tried a pair of XMS6404v1.1, XMS1005v1.1, XMS5400v1.2 and they work without a fuzz at 1.8volt@800mhz In their defense: They work......sometimes. They still look cool even though they lay on the table rather then in the machine. The solution? Can you recommend any further testing before RMA? Is it possible to RMA from Denmark? (note: please bear with my terrible spelling, I’m word blind and this message took me 35min to compose) I forgot to mention I have a highly ventilated case and a dedicated 120mm fan for the memory, they run allmost at room temperture, so heat is not a problem. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard and then load optimized defaults and set the Memory Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings to 4-4-4-12 (CAS-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) and then test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! Please allow memtest to run 2-3 passes on each module. If you still get errors, we will be happy to replace them! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. Wired
Is it possible to RMA from Denmark? (note: please bear with my terrible spelling, I’m word blind and this message took me 35min to compose)Corsair has a world wide warranty, but you'll have to ship it to Corsair in the USA. You may want to see if your reseller can help you with the RMA process first. Note: Your system specs that are in your profile are different from what you stated in your post. Which set is correct? Your spelling and English are fine, however what does "word blind" mean?
NeoSmolf
I can see the correct word is not “wordblind” but ”dyslexia”. The memory was indented for the setup in the description above, and I was hoping for success with that setup, no luck so far. I have run some tests with the memory in my primary setup too(with the ASUS Formula). It has been unsuccessful so far, failing memtest86+, 3Dmark, Orthos, SuperPi, Crysis, BF2, even inet browsing results in BSOD/lock or BSOD/dumping memory. Haven’t tested them individually would that be a good thing to try?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 29, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 29, 2008 Yes please test the modules one up and let us know the results with http://www.memtest.org and with the tested settings manually set after you have loaded setup defaults.
