jrambonnet
I've gotten this far: There are 3 cables coming from the PSU; one goes to the motherboard, the other smal 4 pin cable also goes to the motherboard and then the last cable has 8 female pins. I can't find a cable that was sent with the PSU that attaches to this. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing a cable? PLEASE HELP!
jrambonnet
OK - I'm a complete dumbass. I forgot there are plugs on the PSU itself where the cables get attached. False alarm.
EliteKiller
Regardless, the 8-pin cable is an EPS 12V connector for the motherboard. Think of it as two of the 4-pin 12V leads attached together. Some psu's only include the 8-pin 12V and allow you to break it apart in a 4-pin configuration. A rule of thumb is that if your motherboard has the 8-pin input then you should use it. If not simply tie it up and hide it from plain view.
