sanepidd
Hello, I've recently purchased the following configuration: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Corsair CMPSU-620HX Power Supply Silverstone Lascala LC16M-B Black HTPC ATX Case NVidia 7950 PCIE video card After a shutdown or StandBy, the machine won't boot up without switching the PS off and on. When I press the Power button on the case, I can hear HDD and DVD activity, and all the front panel LEDs are turning on, but there is no signal to the monitor. This problem goes away if I turn off and then back on the power supply. I've tried to disconnect most of the components (all case wiring, HDD, DVD, switched the memory chips) without any success. Has anybody experienced similar behavior? I couldn't find any reference to similar problems. Thank you
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2008 If possible, I would recommend that you test the PSU in a different system to be sure that the PSU is causing this. Does the PSU fan remain spinning when you boot with nothing appearing on the monitor?
sanepidd
After a couple of hours of playing with the components, I have finally managed to find the problem: my VFD is intercepting the power connection with the motherboard, but that only applies to the PW Switch. I thought all other wires should connect directly to the MB pins (HDD, Reset, LED). Well, seems like the problem was actually caused by the reset. As soon as I removed that (my case does not have a reset button anyway), everything started to work as expected. Thanks again for supporting me
