wotracetobe
Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400C4 XMS2 (4-4-4-12) MB BIOS number: 1305 Bought 2 x of these kits for my MB, with the plan of using 4GB. When booting with a stick in both A1 + B1 (blue sockets) I am getting 'TEST MEM' displayed on the MB LCD. The same occurs when I try to boot with 1 stick aswell. The 'Republic of Gamers' logo comes up with giving the option of entering setup (BIOS) by pressing 'DEL' or pressing 'TAB' to view post boot. It hangs on entering setup if 'DEL' is pressed and as such can't get into BIOS. On very rare occasion the LCD display actually goes past TEST MEM, however the post boot screen reads the message (after displaying hardware): "CMOS - checksum error - defaults loaded Press F1 to continue or 'DEL' to enter setup" Pressing F1 will actually boot windows but taking an educated guess I am likely to not have maximum performance and unstability issues. And even then I would only have 2gb of my 4gb 'installed'. Pressing 'DEL' at this point will allow me into BIOS to set the Memory voltage to 2.1, and timings to (4-4-4-12) then pressing F10 to save and quit, upon the cpu 'rebooting' the LCD display gets stuck on 'INTRINIT'. Basically, help!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2008 If you get the same results with either set of modules I would suggest sending the MB to ASUS to check it. However, I have had some other report problems like this when they updated to this BIOS version, so I would suggest flashing back to the previous version and then resetting the BIO and see if it will be more stable. Also until, its stable just use one module or one set till you get this problem resolved and then with all four modules load setup defaults and set the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the Command Rate to 2T manually and set TRC to 24 and see if its more stable.
