To start off i don't have a solid budget. And i'm willing to pay more for something if the cheaper is just going to crap-out or wont be good in the long run, the machines i've built so far have lasted me a LONG time and i'm hoping this one will as well. My first question is just about the overall compatibility and quality of the items. I used newegg to pull everything out of but it doesn't necessarily mean i will be buying it all from newegg. Also missing my case in there, but i'm still trying to decide there! My second question is about the motherboard. I heard the striker was a very OC friendly mobo, i've also seen that it had a few issues, but for the most part it seems pretty solid. My question really is how much configuring does it require? For the games i play i don't really feel like overclocking will be necessary for quite some while, so i'm wondering how friendly it is to setup and go. My last question is about the ram, i tried to research this a bit but it's so way over my head that i'm still trying to figure it out. I'm not sure if 2GB will be enough for a vista build (still not sure if i should go with 32 or 64 bit version, when it's purely a gaming/photoeditting/video watching machine) but i have no idea what the best decently priced (again i'm not going for 100% enthusiast build, but definitely more high-end) ram that corsair offers. My current machine has 1GB and is starting to hit its limits so i don't know how big the difference will be between 2GB and 4GB. Any and all advice would very greatly appreciated. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2008 I would suggest 2 Gig of memory if you will be using a 32-Bit O.S. but if you go to 64-Bit I would go with one set of Twin2x4096-6400C5DHX. But over all I think you will be happy.
