carboncopy
When I first placed my flash drive in, I received the error message about the Windows unsigned logo. I said "do not continue" or "abort" or whatever, to stop the installation. But, after thinking about it, I went back & tried to install it anyway and now I can't get any of the USB ports on my computer to try to install it. I have turned off the "check for digital signature" and it still won't recognize it. It does make a sound when I plug it in. The flash drive works on other computers. My question is: How can I get my computer to re-recognize it? Thanks for your help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2008 You can try and check in device manager and see if anything is listed and then remove it. Then make sure there are no other USB devices connected and under Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? USB Controllers remove every thing that is listed from the Bottom up and then restart your system and it will reinstall the USB Mass storage drivers. The try connecting the flash drive again. carboncopy
Other Flash drives are working on this computer. Would your answer still be the same?
carboncopy
I mean, when I try to use other flash drives on this computer, they seem to work alright. They are other smaller brands and not as gigantic as this one.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2008 Yes its the same answer, the other drives even if its one of older drives may be using an older controller and the issue is that the install of the controller driver in the O.S. did not install proper, this will just force the install again and clear out the errors in registry.
