bras0782
Hi guys, Great forum with lots of useful posts - keep up the good work. I have 2 sticks of 1GB CMX1024-3200C2PT in my MSI Neo Platinum (MS-7030) motherboard. When I run at 3-3-3-6 or 2.5-3-3-6 all seems ok, but when I change it to 2-3-3-6 (as the sticks are advertsied) my system is completely unstable. I ran Memtest86+ and one of the sticks gives errors, the other doesn't (both with same bios settings and at 2-3-3-6). So far it errored on test 5, but I am currently running the full batch. I read that test 5 errors are associated with incorrect tCL settings, but I'm running at the Corsair tested latency. Also, one of the sticks doesn't error at all. Have I got a corrupt stick? bras0782
Thank you for your help. Can I please provide details of my working stick to make sure I can a matched pair, or perhaps they can match the stick I send in? What infor do I need to give and who to? For example, my current sticks are v1.2.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 19, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 19, 2008 These modules will be need to replaced as a set. This is to ensure you receive a matched pair in return and that there are no compatibility issues with a replacement module.
bras0782
The stick are not part of a matched pair (i.e. they are not the TWINX). I purchased them seperately, but they are both CMX1024-3200C2PT v1.2. However, I ran Memtest86+ on them seperately one at a time and found errors in one only. Should I still send them both back together? Thanks

bras0782
I will send both sticks with a note to show which is faulty. When I submitted the request I said I would be sending 1 stick, so please update to show I'll be sending two. I would like to add that I have been very impressed so far with your swift replies and the Corsair support - I received an RMA number within just half an hour of completing the form!! Keep up the great work - thanks.
